This Dean supporter will welcome Gen. Clark into race

The buildup Gen. Clark will get will be amazing. He will (like Dean was) be the press darling for a while. That is fine--and expected. Clark seems to me to be a interesting man and someone I could easily support should he win the nomination. It is easier for me to support him than some of the others (though I would) because Clark was against the war. Also, unlike on DU among Clark and Dean supporters, Clark and Dean appear to have a good relationship which I hope will carry on through-out the campaign (and maybe afterward, I could easily see a Dean/Clark or Clark/Dean ticket).

But the bottomline for this Dean supporter is this--if Dean can overcome this challenge and still win the nomination he will truly have been proven battle tested and ready to take on George Worthless Bush.

An easy fight for the nomination is no way to go--if you really want to see what your candidate has it is how he/she will overcome obstacles and Gen. Clark is a formidible obstacle for Dean and the other candidates.

So, if it happens I say, Welcome General Clark.
