Dan Rather thanked me!

Yesterday, I sent an email of support to the local CBS TV affiliate, and to the CBS Evening News as well. This afternoon, Mr. Rather was kind enough to reply:

Dear -----,

Your being in touch with support and encouragement at this time means the world to me. I'm unable to fully express how grateful I am for it.

But I do want to say, humbly and heartfelt: thank you.

Cheers and courage,

Dan Rather

If you haven't already, and if you are so inclined, I suggest you take a moment to write expressing support to Mr. Rather and his team.

on edit: My apologies for forgetting to include the email address. Someone below had posted it, but here it is again: evening@cbsnews.com. I can't say why I got a reply this time; it's the first time I've ever received one, and it seems this past year I've sent a more than a few every month, either complaining or complimenting. I am certain Dan appreciates every single note and phone call of support, though. Maybe I just rose to the top of the thank-you pile...
