What do you remember from 35 years ago? [View All]

Are there significant incidents from 1969 that you can clearly recall?

I was in high school. I have some vague memories, but nothing where I could say "I am absolutely certain this detail is correct."

I remember a car accident from about 32 years ago, but not even that is very clear--just a sort of snapshot of pictures, a moment just before it happened, and how I tried to find some way to call the police, talked to the other driver. I know I was behind a school bus at a stop light just before it happened. I know what time it was, basically, because of what caused it. It was around midnight, and I'd just dropped a friend of mine off at her dorm.

I could not possibly tell you now, for instance, what the cop who came looked like, or what the other vehicle was, or anything whatsoever about the other driver except he had his girlfriend with him, he was about my age and he was white.

I'm sure combat sears things into your memory, and I don't have a very good memory anyway, but if the police reports of that accident said it was a red 2-door chevrolet that was heavily damaged, I would not be able to support that or contradict it.

Just curious if others remember more clearly.
