What do we want the Dem response to SOTU to sound like?

Here's what I want: a declaration of war.

Turdblossom Rove thought he was being pretty farking clever scheduling the SOTU with the Iowa caucus. Now we'll show that fat fark who's clever -- the campaign begins right after the SOTU.

Here's how I see some of the points:

1. Bush is going to say "optimistic" about thirty times, right?
-> "Democrats are very optimistic about 2004 because this is the year America will finally say goodbye to George W. Bush and put a dark chapter of our history behind us."

2. Mars mission
-> "No one supports the space program like the Democrats, but the President is clearly not serious about this proposal, because he hasn't budgeted for it."

3. Bush will barely mention Iraq. He'll probably just refer to "victories in the war on Terra."
-> "Last year, the President told the nation that Saddam Hussein was threatening America with weapons of mass destruction so we had to strike him first. Now we know that was totally untrue, that Iraq had no WMDs at all, and Bush probably knew it." and so on...
