I've told them, that people are not going to be fooled by a Republican Health Care reform bill (i.e. subsidies to insurance companies with NO Public Option). NO EXCUSE FOR ANY DEMOCRAT (or Corporate Lobbyist) to kill the Health CAre Reform. They can opt out of the Pubic Option for their state. This way they can screw the people of there own state but leave the rest of the country alone to "Go Rational" and get the Public Option. NO PUBLIC OPTION - NO HEALTH CARE REFORM - ALL YOU'VE GOT IS A REPUBLICAN PLAN FOR SUBSIDIZED PROFITS FOR INSURANCE COMPANIES WITHOUT ANY MEANS OF COST CONTROL. SUBSIDIZED PROFITS FOR SOCIALIZED CAPITALISM. JUST WHAT THE CORPORATE LOBBYIST PARTY ADORES.
I completley agree that with you that we should keep pressure on them (the WH in particular) that if they do not think of the needs of the people first, their policies will not be successful in solving our problems. They are bending over backward too much to try to achieve unattainable bi-partisanship (note the compromised stimulus plan with tax-cuts for GOP which are NOT STIMULATIVE and now the Republicans keep saying the Stimulus wasn't big enough!).
The American Taliban are not interested in bi-partisanship. They are willing to destroy our economy, our strategic security (IRAQ adventure to free Iraqi oil) and of course our democracy to obtain power - without any intention of tolerating quaint traditions like 'checks and balances' (purges of US Attorney's who did not show sufficient enthusiasm for polital prosecutions).
