8. By "shifting the argument," WaPo means . . .
Edited on Thu Sep-07-06 07:29 AM by MrModerate
Not lying about secret prisons anymore. By "catching critics off guard," they mean the sense of surprise that Schimpanski has admitted lying previously. The net effect? Approximately zero. It'll all be lost in the bwah-bwah-bwah that's bleating from the dissembler-in-chief's piehole this week.

WaPo seems determined to find some way to make this goniff appear presidential -- why, I'm not sure.

Whether the bwah-bwah moves anyone but the committed base is yet to be seen. I don't think it'll be very effective -- although the MSM has started to refer to Bush's approval ratings in the "low 40s," when in fact the average of leading polls is several points lower. This in response to the slight improvement from when the average was around 32.

I think what bothers me the most about the MSM is their sheer, unadulterated laziness. First they Google, then they transcribe. Nice work if you can get it (and are incapable of any other sort of job). The Internet has ruined the press in this country, accelerating a trend toward infotainment and irrelevancy that's been underway for decades.
