I think this is a rather weak statement. I would say - imploding. Caving in on itself.

Really, we're witnessing the destruction of our form of government. It's coming apart. Bush & Cheney are at the top, dismantling the very system which has given them so much.....money, that is. Through corruption and cronyism and filling every position with incompetent and corrupt people, they are taking it apart.
