Republican Michael Reagan has shot down speculation that he will challenge Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein in 2012, saying he has no plans to jump in the race.

"I am not crazy enough to run..No I am not considering a run for senate," Reagan wrote in an email to The Bee.

Buzz that Reagan, the son of former California Governor and President Ronald Reagan, was weighing a bid for U.S. Senate picked up last week as California Republicans gathered for their fall convention in Los Angeles.
