...I don't doubt in the least that the 'cans would have been demonizing a President Hillary Rodham Clinton from the get-go. In fact I confess to having been somewhat relieved she wasn't the candidate because the GOP was so boorish when President Bill Clinton was in the White House. Remember then-Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich calling Hillary a "bitch"? Senator John McCain making a nasty joke about the attorney general AND the president's daughter?

nd let's not go into the festival of bile and sexism that was the GOP response to Nancy Pelosi's rise to the speakership.

So let's not fantasize about the easier road President Hillary Clinton might've had.
