5. Meme from TV's "Sunday Morning" this a.m.: The real tax losses the U.S.. is suffering are from
unreported income (think things like wait stafff tips, household help, and so on.) We were even told exactly how much less our individual tax burden would be if all these lower paid people reported all their income.

Here's my question: How do we know exactly how much goes unreported?

Here's another question: What's the point of telling me that in the middle of a story about how the rich {legally} pay so much less of a percentage of their income than do low earners? I mean, we know how to change laws to require higher earners to pay more, but we don't seem to know how to end underreporting. Is your point that we should do nothing at all?
