There's no public option anyway in the Bill, just a farcical image of one. My guess is that the sickening old fraud has word the Rs won't actually filibuster, since their good buds the insurance cos are no doubt thrilled with the Bill. So they'll bluster and demagogue away, but in the end won't filibuster and will probably let Snowe vote for it. Joe can vote against, the Bill will pass on simple majority, no repercussions will be dealt to Holy Joe, the Rs get to keep inciting their mobs (they won't be happy till someone of their deluded followers takes the revolutionary rhetoric seriously and does something horrific), Obama gets to say he passed "historic" health care act, the insurance cos laugh all the way to the bank, and everyone's happy.

Except those of us who pay and die. But we don't count.
