6. Perhaps some controls are better than nothing
but the real solution would be to protect our country by not
devastating these mountains. Blow up a building and you are a
terrorist; blow up a mountain and you are a smart
businessperson. Further, it has already been stated by many
scientists that there is no such thing as clean coal and that
adding any greenhouse gases at this time is only pushing the
point of no return further. Does something strange happen to
people's brains when they win political office? Alaskan
villages and Pacific islands are already being lost to the
rising waters, while scientists worry that we may have already
reached the tipping point. If we don't move fast to get a
meaningful energy bill - and yes, we may all have to conserve
and change our habits - we could well be destroying our
children's futures.
