The Utah Republican Party has urged Utahns to call Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson's office to tell him to "stop embarrassing Utah."

"This morning, the phones were ringing off the hook, and people weren't able to get through," Anderson spokesman Patrick Thronson said Monday afternoon. "We're also setting up a separate voice-mail box to record messages if the lines
are busy."
The GOP is angry Anderson is helping organize and will be speaking at an anti-Bush rally Wednesday. The president is coming to Utah this week to speak to the American Legion's national convention.
The party paid to send out voice messages and air radio ads to decry the "negative, disrespectful and embarrassing image" Anderson is sending about Utah, according to a news release.
