are not going to act. It's not in their interest yet...they will not act until it starts eating into the profits of the corps and industries they are supporting. And that will probably be to late.

There needs to be a people's environmental movement much like the populist labor movement in the late 19th early 20th century. Get people to make changes in lifestyle, provide community support to people for making the most difficult lifestyle changes and put pressure on the profits (boycotts, changing purchasing patterns, etc...) industries and national governments.
