BAGHDAD, Aug 9 (Reuters) -
The following are security incidents in Iraq reported on Wednesday, Aug. 9, as of 1915 GMT.

BAGHDAD -
Almost 2,000 bodies were taken Baghdad's morgue in July, the highest tally since the bombing
of a Shi'ite shrine in February sparked an explosion of sectarian violence.
Morgue assistant manager Doctor Abdul Razzaq al-Obaidi said about 90 percent had died violently.

BAGHDAD -
The U.S. military arrested four Iraqi men suspected of being involved in the abduction
of American journalist Jill Carroll, who was held hostage for 82 days before her release
earlier this year, Major General William Caldwell, the chief U.S. military spokesman in
Iraq told a news briefing.

BAGHDAD -
The U.S. and Iraqi military conducted operations against 11 death squads last week,
10 of them in Baghdad, and found 222 roadside bombs, Caldwell said.
