Are you *really* sure you want to play the game of pointing to some moronic action somewhere and extrapolating it into broad brush stereotypes of millions of other people? If you are, please tell us where you live and I'll be happy to round up some particularly galling examples of idiocy and ask you to defend them.

If you want to know what motivates the cretin who is quoted in the article, then contact him and ask. But you probably won't find him here. A little clue: the Southerners who hang out at DU, and there are many of us, tend to be liberals. If you want to refight the Civil War with neoconfederates, this is not a good place to find them.

And while we're at it, could you please tell us a place in the good ole U.S. of A where racism is not prevalent and homophobia a powerful force? A lot of us would find that information very useful.
