Oh how I have been looking for a study like this!!!!
My gut feel is that not only do they cost more, they are impossible to get rid of and the actual workers really get screwed while the 'management' rakes in the bucks. I hope this is an impetus for examining these insane policies.

3. wasn't blackwell billing over $100 per HOUR at some point?
I'm sure someone here can dig out those numbers -- but that sort of billing for thuggish mercenaries is obscene..

5. Of course they do. Why is this even open for discussion?
The government isn't in it for PROFIT. Private contractors are. A private contractor has to MARK UP everything in order to make a profit. The government doesn't...it can do everything at cost, because it's motivation isn't PROFIT. How the bloody fuck do the righties not understand that? It is the most basic of economic principles, yet it is also the mantra of every Republican. Privatize. Private industry does better than government...but it just isn't true. Private industry makes a profit where government doesn't have to. So why is that BETTER? Why? Because it's some Republican douche bag who will profit, that's why.

6. Yup.... I always ask the right wingnuts why they would want to pay more
for the same services while at the same time lowering worker's standards.
