During the campaign, you knew that universal health care was one of the top issues. You gave brilliant speeches that inspired us, gave us hope, and sounded like the best of "President Bartlett" on "The West Wing."
What happened? You're not acting like the man we voted for. Being brilliant, laid back and dignified is a breath of fresh air after the last eight long, horrible years. But isn't it time you got angry? Isn't it past time to ignore the Republicans? Isn't it time to start kicking ass, beginning with Max Baucus?
You haven't lost my backing, my hope for your success, or my vote. Not yet. But you know that the vast majority of us want to see a sane health care plan that reflects those that exist in the entire industrialized world.
So please, Mr. President, stop with the "bipartisan" crap. Stop trying to please those who wouldn't vote for you in a thousand years. Stop being Mr. Nice Guy.
Be the president we voted for.
Respectfully,
Cyrano, a voter who still believes in you
