Wednesday, 8/24: I worked out today--did you?
Hi folks...

I just got back from a 3 mile jog. I'm going to do some ab work and then call it a day (as far as exercise goes).

How are you guys/gals doing today? What's your story?

5. Hitting the elliptical as usual.....
Just about to go downstairs and get started. Need to re-vamp the tuneage on the mp3 player and then it's off to sweat city!!!!
Aside from not doing anything Friday, we went to our local mini water park on Saturday and did a lot of things that kept me active.
On Sunday I went out in the backyard to mow the lawn(decent sized lawn) and do a little yard work....5 hours later, I had mowed the lawn, cleared brush(no apologies to the Asshat in Chief!), chopped the remaining firewood I had at the side of the house and cleaned everything up.
Started right back on the elliptical Monday and haven't looked back!

7. Sweet Holy Jehosofat yes!
My gym (Gold's) just got bought by some startup who bought all the Gold's Gyms (3) in the area. Anyway, yesterday they moved out 50% of the equipment in a restructuring deal. The BETTER have it replaced within the next 2 days or I'll be pissed.

Anyway, many of my regular machines were gone and most of the rest of the stations were very crowded so I had to be creative. Still I managed a good Leg/Shoulder workout with dumbells and a couple of the machines that were still standing.

Damn! I hate deadlifts, suspecially with dumbells. They wipe me out, and I never feel like I'm really pushing myself enough, but part of my goal is to stay alive.

8. I got in a good back/lat workout, but
My very, very last set (my 15th, to be exact) was my 3rd set of dumbell rows. I did 12 reps, each arm, with 75s. I did 12 reps, each arm, with 85s. Then, feeling inspired (or stupid) I went for the 100s. Did a full 8 with the right arm. My left hand had other ideas, though. After 4 reps, even with straps, my hand just couldn't take it.

Next time...

10. No - still really sore.
I tried my regular advanced Pilates mat workout yesterday - it didn't go well.

I need to remember to take baby steps. But I'm seeing the dr. tomorrow and maybe she'll have some good news for me...

14. I couldn't drag my butt out of bed this morning.
Edited on Thu Aug-25-05 02:34 AM by Gentle Giant
I hate when that happens. But I'm hoping that over time it will become easier and easier for me to lose my night owl habits. Without some indoor equipment for me to use right in my apartment, it is much more sensible that I get my outdoor activity during the quietest part of the day, for a number of reasons. I did it years ago in high school, when I got up at 3am, walked outside for 3 hours and then caught the bus at 6:30, so I know I can do it now.

15. I went to the health club as usual
I did 5 miles in just over 15 minutes on the recumbent bike. Then I hit the treadmill and did 20min/1.2M there. I did about 15 minutes at 3.5mph, then began working my way up. The last two minutes I did at 4mph, which for me is a slow jog. I also did the entire weight circuit.

Tomorrow I see my personal trainer for a weigh-in and measurements. :scared:
