I don't know where else to post this. I have a medical problem
that entails pressure in my head. I got a number of head injuries during the worst of Doug's episodes and looks like I need a scan.

I tried to get an appointment a UCSF today and as soon as they heard I had no insurance, they tried to shake me off. Christ -- my cash is no good. I asked to speak to a supervisor but so far, no one has called me back.

So frustrating. Oh well, try again tomorrow.

1. Keep us updated.
So sorry to hear that you are going through this. Good, big Mississippi vibes--that the clinic will take you as a patient and give you that scan--headed your way.

3. Thanks, Maddy! I was pretty anxious about it at first
but have settled down and am just treating it like any other chore. :)

2. Is there any kind of state insurance you can get on quickly?
We have MassHealth here and I was able to get on it in less than a month, thankfully.Without it the cancer would have put me about 100K in debt by now,so we're very lucky out here to have MassHealth available for people like me (it doesn't hurt having Kerry and Kennedy in our corner either).

Don't wait for call backs for very long.Keep on them!!!

Best of luck!

pre-existing condition (knock on formica) so I could get insurance. But my finances are so wacky right now, I'm afraid to sign up for any. Just keep dialing numbers. Something will shake loose.
