Poll question: Pick the Survivor Winner

Post your reason and the order you think it'll go.
I'll start.

I think Eliza wins the first immunity and Chris goes, then
Eliza wins the second immunity and Twila's her F2.

She wins the jury vote 6-1.

(I know, I'm dreaming, but what the heck.)

1. Twila and Scout have no chance of winning
They will be the next two to go and then the majority will vote for Chris to win-- Eliza has sufficiently pissed off the remainder of the people on the jury.

2. Chris
Unless Eliza wins immunity, she's gone next. Then Chris or Twila win the F3 competition. If Twila wins, Chris convinces her she could best beat him, due to the gender makeup of the jury. If Chris wins, he takes Scout.

Either way, Chris hopefully points out his skill at surviving, how he played the game, and picks up enough votes due to Scout's being a nonplayer.

3. Chris is only there because he was needed by T/S
to make the power play on Ami. That hardly qualifies
HIM as an "engineer" or a "player."

A girl does something and she's a nonfactor or a nonplayer
or blows in the wind or whatever, but you let a guy do it
and all of a sudden he's righteous and deserves the million.

:wtf:

5. Nope
Not even close.

Twila is my second choice because she's also engineered and manipulated. Nothing sexist about it at all.

7. I didn't say it was sexist.

Just because you have a clear double standard about how you
evaluate a man's performance versus a woman's performance doesn't
make it sexist.

I know, I know, it's a fine line I'm drawing here, but giving
a man credit for something while denigrating a woman for doing
the same thing is a double standard.

Eliza realizes she's on the block early on, with Dolly playing
the "oh I don't know" game that got Christi killed. Eliza
takes matters into her own hands and pulls off a move that saves
her game.

But you don't want to give her any credit for that.

Chris sits there crying in his beer, weeping because he lost the
immunity challenge and thinks he's going home next, and then Twila
approaches him with a proposal to break up the power alliance in
the game. All Chris has to do is convince ELIZA to make yet another
power move.

It's pretty clear here who the actor was, and it certainly wasn't
Chris.

13. Okay
I'll take your word for it on the sexism stuff.

But Eliza was a tool. So was Chris. The difference is that Chris turned on the people who were using him, successfully. Eliza never really did.

Either way, do you really think that Chris, outnumbered 6-1, had a prayer of winning if he didn't play his ass off?

24. I think he was in the right place at the right time.

I think he got lucky when T/S pulled him in for the
power play.

Yes, he did win the immunities that he had to win to get
to the F2, but I will always remember him as the fool who
was weeping and whining because he's "going home tonight."
That's not a player. That's a goober.

4. I'm hoping Twila wins but
I think it more likely it will be Chris. Eliza could win if she can get immunity but I don't think Scout has any chance at all of winning.

Winner...I'm hoping Twila, Chris or Scout in that order...Eliza is the only one I'm hoping doesn't win. x(

6. Chris
because if Eliza wins, I'll just :puke: Cannot stand her. She'd have to win the next two immunity challenges to get to F2. Who would take her? And not because they are afraid of losing to her, but of the remaining 3, who really likes her? Chris liked Julie but he voted her off and I don't think he really likes Eliza.

8. Who I think will win is different from who I would like
to see win. I prefer Twila or Scout. First Scout because she lives close to me. It's nice to see a devoted lesbian couple living peacefully in Oklahoma ( just as most gays and lesbians that I know live. Oklahoma has it's faults, but most people mind their own business) I like Twila because she reminds me of an Okie. I think she could use the money too.

I realize that shouldn't matter to those who judge by gamesmanship, but of the four, none stand out to me as anything more than lucky. Also Scout and Twila have stuck together and I give them points for that and now that I think about it, they have made some good game decisions.

b**e me??? Lol.

I guess winning those last two immunities is all
that it takes.

I'm just surprised that most of the women voted
for Chris. Especially Eliza.

12. Nope
Winning the last immunity has, in the past, been a strong indicator you're gone. Chris is only the third person to win F3 immunity and win the game.

I'm not surprised at all at the voting, to be honest. It went pretty much along the lines I was expecting, if the players voted according to their behaviour in the game. I was a little surprised at Ami's vote, but not really.

14. Horrible. The least deserving winner EVER.

"If I don't win, I'm going home tonight." And "I didn't
change my game at all. Just all of a sudden I'm back in
this thing."

You couldn't get Ami to vote for a man if... if it had been
two men in the final two, she would have tried to abstain.

16. Humbug.

That's still pretty low on the totem pole, if you put him above
three, that makes him #5, or so.

But then again I know how skewed the system of evaluating
winners is you use. I mean, after all, Brian (Blech) is your
top winner. (Double Blech).

Whimper, whine, cry: "If I don't win this immunity, I'm
going home tonight." This was not someone in charge of their
own destiny.

Least. Deserving. Winner. Ever.

17. Well, I thought he'd win but I didn't want him to
Jeff was right... how was Twila's lie worse than all Chris' lies? I don't give a rat's ass about her swearing on her son. People take that too seriously.

I went back and forth the last few weeks about the person I wanted to win: Chris or Twila. Toward the end, Chris got too cocky and I thought he had the most immature response to winning of anyone -- standing up and yelling profanity (and this from someone with a big potty mouth). Just seemed immature to me, but Eliza and Sarge (my two least favorites for the season) seemed pretty immature at the final tribal council. If Sarge is so concerned about surrounding himself with people that are honest and have integrity (an obvious jab at Twila), then how could he remain such good friends with Chris? And all the military crap (integrity, leadership, etc. etc.), give it a rest. My soldier husband wanted to puke.

In the end, I wish Scout had won. Her comment about the people acting self-righteous was dead on. Her comments about Twila saying what she feels even if she should shut up and Chris being a bullshit artist -- dead on. Plus, she just seemed to be there for the experience and not so much for the money. But then Twila needed the money and that makes me feel bad. I guess Chris winning just left a sour taste in my mouth after how he acted toward the very end.

19. One quibble
I'm sick to death of people worrying about "who needs the money". It's not about who needs the money, it's about who played the game.

Otherwise, JohnK, who's dead broke, would have won. Heck, we could just pick the poorest person who applies every season and give them the million, and not worry about the show.

20. Maybe I missed some talk but it seems to me...
that they didn't focus on this as much as previous games. Some people were voted off before simply because they didn't need the money. I didn't hear as much talk about it this time. Did you?

23. I was thinking last night while watching the self-righteousness
Of all the losers, how closely Survivor mirrors the climate of our country. All those lying, hypocritical thugs sat there and judged Twila for doing the exact same things they did in the game. And Twila, to my knowledge, only lied once-- the rest of them lied over and over and over again. Sarge "I would never surround myself with immoral people" stood there and lied to Twila's face saying that he would vote to give her the million dollars and knew he was lying.

Yet, they didn't want to hear the truth. Scout told them Chris was sitting there BSing them and they still didn't believe that Chris was worse than Twila (does that sound familiar?).

21. I have no quibble with Chris winning
Of the final four, I think he played the best. He won when he needed to, and managed to save his ass when he was down 6-1 in favor of the women. He did what the other guys in that tribe couldn't do -- overcome the disadvantage. I'm not jumping for joy over the outcome -- I liked Ami the best and hoped the engineer of the women's alliance would win -- but of the four he was the best option.

I think Twila and Scout made a huge mistake sticking with Chris. They should have used him for his vote against LeeAnn, and then dropped him. The best players seem to make only the alliances and promises they need to make to stay in. The whole point of the women's alliance was that they would be on fairly even ground when they got down to the end. But there was no way either of those two women were going to beat him at the end. (Especially when I think he psyched Twila out on the bow and arrow thing.)

I think this season suffered for a few reasons.

One, the editing didn't seem to show as much of the backstabbing, and definitely didn't show as much of the hardships on the island.

Two, the teams had a very different strategy than they had in the past -- they voted off the strongest people first, not the weakest links who would hurt the team. If they had done that, I'd argue the final three may not have even been there.

And three, the cast was not incredibly compelling. None of these people inspired the hate in me that Johnny Fairplay or Jerri or Richard did, or on the flip side were really likeable, like Rupert. Perhaps they are that compelling, but they weren't edited to be all that interesting. Take Julie, for instance. She was on every show until the last, and I know nothing about her, other than that she likes to sunbathe in the nude.

But I know I'll watch Survivor Palau. I just know it.
