Ah the light at the end of the tunnel...

Well, I am getting to the point where

I will have to call the edit done, and do the rest of the work. That is the page layout.

Suffice it to say that the time line advanced quite a bit, and these people who went to war and drank from that bitter cup, are changed forever. One of my chief gripes with gaming fiction, no-matter who published it. For that matter a lot of modern military sci fi, is that these characters went to hell, came back, and were not even touched by the experience. Well, I know that is a pile of crap. Those who have gone to war do change and the experience is deep. Some will never, ever talk about it. Others write poetry, to deal with it, and very few talk about it.

There are many reasons why. Chiefly you cannot really understand the fear and the pain until you taste it. It is truly one of those, if you have not been there forget it. But also our society has gotten into this imperial mode, where only a few taste this and the rest don’t want to hear about it. Well, in this case war affects all, from those in the high nobility, as rare as that may be, to the lowest dregs of society. The King and the lowest of his vassals has been there, done that, and now has to live with it.

From my blog, and here is the full link, leads to silly things like titles as well

1. Then again, I made a newb mistake...
when taking things to be printed for final read at your local Office Depot... take a PDF...

I didn't. Wanted to see if the formating would also work. Well, oops, made a very basic mistake. You see I want to use a non-standard front. Well, that is a windows font, but that does not come standard...

So I take my wonderful RTF file... and they open it... oooops... lets just say I spent an hour or two last night fixing the formating. I have gone back to Times New Roman for cleaning it up and recovering the words here or there that went ahem, MIA.

Yep, happens.

So end of the tunnel, not so much. On the bright side... I get to do yet another FULL edit.

ROLLS eyes.

Oh well

PDF... that kiddies is the word of the day
