Remember when WXPN in Phila lost their license because of George Carlin?

George Carlin was famous for his routine about the 7 dirty words you can't say on TV.

Does anyone remember around 1980 when WXPN at the University of PA (which was then student-run) actually broadcast Carlin's routine? The FCC took away their license for a while because of it.

I believe the suspension lasted at least a year. However, today, I believe that routine would be the 2 dirty words you can't say on TV. I remember the first time the word "Suck" was said on TV - it was in a song on Saturday Night Live in the late 1970s. Now that word is used to mean almost anything, but at one time it was an obscenity.
