Heard on CSPAN Friday morning... Amy and David Goodman.

OK -

I guess this really doesn't mean anything in context.
But, it is telling considering that this is the state that I live in.

I'm from New York City, so I really don't share a lot of the beliefs and values that a large portion of Missouri residents hold dear.

You know...that whole Red State crap.

I watch a lot of CSPAN's Washington Journal in the morning as I'm getting ready to go to work.
I'm at the point now where all I have to do is hear where the caller is calling from, and I know what's coming.
I don't even have to know what line they are calling in on.

Repub, Dem or Indy.

So on Friday, Amy and her brother are laying down the truth about how bad things really are.
Most callers are supportive.
Then I hear the moderator say "Poplar Bluff, Missouri".

Hear we go I think.

Sure enough, Amy Goodman is "Tokyo Rose"... the "librul" media has it in for Bush... Amy and David "hate" America.

I think to myself why do I continue to live here?

But on further thought, I guess it's really not an indication of anything.
Missouri, while not exactly a bastion of liberal thoughts and values, isn't exactly Mississippi.

I guess my point is, I'm going to keep talking to people, keep trying to show them the lies they believe are tearing the very fabric of our country apart.
And making it really difficult for people like me to continue living in what really is a very beautiful state with some very nice people. Many are my friends.

I pray that the veil is lifted in 2007 by the Dems, and that the truth about how bad Bush and his friends have screwed things up is revealed to all.
So that even that caller from Poplar Bluff, Missouri can finally understand that Republicans only have one set of values.
And that set of values does not include them.

God bless Missouri.
Lord knows, we need all the help we can get.
And I can't afford to move back to New York!

2. As a former New Yorker, I feel your pain.

The level of poltical ignorance in this state is truly staggering.

(just a note: I haven't lived in New York for over 23 years)
