I'm trying hard to feel the joy..
and I really am relieved for the country, but...

in my county all of our Democratic candidates lost except for a thirty year incumbent and Susan Montee (the fact that Susan won here tells me she needs to run for president or something).

Stem cell lost here too.

We did everything I know to do this year.

From June until August we went door to door for two hours each evening and asked people about what issues mattered to them and talked to them about voting.

We worked really hard to make the Dem tent at the State Fair a place where people could feel the energy.

We recruited some of the best candidates I think we've ever had-and we raised more money to support them.

We canvassed every evening and on weekends, we phone banked-we even gave away free dinner all day at the campaign headquarters to anyone who came in on election day.

I don't know what else to do. I haven't checked the margins yet to see if we increased our percentages any since last election, but our candidates lost by a 2-1 average, so it wasn't even really close.

I used to think all I cared about were the elections on the national level, but that was before I realized how critical it is to get good local candidates elected too.

If I knew what to do I would do it..but I just don't know what else to do.

1. Run for office.
I think about it myself, coming from a county that had zero Dems running for public office.
I voted all write-ins as there was no other choice.
I just don't think I would make a good public servant, don't like the limelight, so-to-speak.
And certainly would not like the mud-slinging running for office brings out from red opponents.
But, if you're serious, the pay is good, great benefits...
