I saw Steele's first ad earlier...
Very positive, down to earth, and what I would consider to seem appealing to middle class African American voters and fence sitters. He distances himself somewhat from the thugs by saying he wants to address what's wrong with both parties, and comes out sounding like Mr Moderate. The commercial is very well done.

Cardin's got a tough fight ahead. I hope his first ad is as upbeat and positive-sounding...I think it would not be helpful for him to pull a really negative punch to start out with. He should keep things subtle and let Steele reduce himself to desperate politician first...

1. Steele's media team is great. His second ad is even better.
We're in for a hell of a fight. He's already defined himself as you said "Mr. Moderate", independent reformer. Its going to take a lot of money and even more hard work to change that image, but we must, because we simply cannot afford to send another Republican to Washington, period.
