Voting problems in Montgomery County?
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/09/12/AR2006091200535.html

According to this WaPo article no voting machines were up and running in Mont. Co. at 7:00 when the polls opened, but where I voted (Springbrook HS) they took the first voter at 7:05 and they had about 8 voting machines up.

Anyone else have a different experience?

2. Yes, the machines weren't working, and we will go back later.
We were warned in the lots by someone walking out of the polling place.

The Gazette says that both Leggett and Silverman are asking for the polling hours to be extended to 10 p.m.

3. Wow, whodathunk MoCo would be this screwed up?
I was surprised at the turnout this morning for a primary race. It was about twice the normal turnout for a primary.

4. How is it normally?
This is the first primary that I've been able to vote in, as I was always registered as an Independent until after the 2004 primary when I was fed up with being left out.

9. I haven't seen the figures, but...
For the past 6 elections I've made it a point to be in line before the polls open. Usually for primaries there are about 10-15 others in line but yesterday there were 25-30. Evidently Springbrook HS was one of the few precincts that had the plastic voting cards available when the polls opened.

Things were fine for me in HoCo.
