4. For me ......
Mfume
Simms
Franchot

I can't vote for the other two groups.

Too bad abut Perez.

On Gansler ..... I'm okay with him .... but .... I still remember him elbowing his way to every teevee camera in sight during the sniper thing. That was a real trun-off for me. Way too typical 'politico' for me. It was as if he was feeling that was his best shot at his 15 minutes.

6. Here goes
Cardin for Senate because he has got experience in Congress. Mfume has experience there, too, I know, but I don't think he has any chance at all. Rales is a dip.

Gansler.

Any Democrat for Comptroller except Schaefer. He is a disgrace to MD Dems and needs to retire pronto.

8. Here you are
Cardin for Senate - Rales lives in an enormous mansion in Potomac, bigger than Danny Snider's. I've ran into him at Starbucks a few times on my way to work and his whole Senatorial campaign seems more designed to make Cardin spend money than to make Josh a Senator. I don't know a lot about Mfume, I assume he's a decent enough guy. As long as we keep the MD Senate delegation all Dem, that's good. The Chimp doesn't need to enjoy a rubber stamp, and Steele will be a rubber stamp.

Atty General - Gansler

Comptroller - Janet Owens

MoCo Executive - Leggett. I know Silverman and he's a weasel in the Developers' pocket.

I would hate to see the vote split and Shaffer sneak back in.

10. Thats a million dollar quetion.
Some people believe Owens is a mole that was convinced to run just to split the anti-Schaefer vote. I disagree with those people. From what Ive heard and read, she was great County Executive. I like her for her fiscal responsibility and respect for tax payer money. She will fit very well into the office of comptroller.

Right now, Id give the edge to Owens over Franchot for the anti-Schaefer vote. She's hitting the airwaves hard and people are really starting to pay attention to her campaign.

11. I'm thinking about
Ben Cardin for Senator,Doug Gansler for AG, Janet Owens for Comptroller. If Willy Don wins the primary for Comptroller, I will probably not vote for that office. I won't vote for the Republican candidate, but I do not care to support Willy Don either.

12. My picks (unless someone can persuade me otherwise)
Mfume
Gansler
Franchot
-
Leggett

I think Gansler has matured some since his microphone-grabbing days. Seems pretty competent to me.

Silverman just bugs me-- too much of an ego maniac. I think developers will just play up to his ego and he'll buckle.

I won't vote for Cardin unless I have to. He plays it too safe. He doesn't have the drive to lead this country in the direction we so badly need to go.

26. Strike Gansler. Simms for AG
I originally supported Perez and now he has endorsed Simms. I can't forgive Gansler for his part in getting Perez off the ballot.

I wasn't too impressed by Mfume in the debate so now I'm wavering....

13. Hard for me stuck in this county that
Maryland forgets.

U.S. Senate
Undecided, I really like both Cardin and Mfume. As for the others, who are they? though Rales commercials have made it here but I had to look up what state he was running in.

Attorney General
Stu Simms so far but looking into both. I have to research. Serious about this county being forgotten.

Comptroller
Del. Peter Franchot
Schaefer has got to retire and so far not impressed with Janet Owens. Can we draft Curran to stay?

MD-3 Residents Only
Can't vote there but could you send the leftovers to MD1? We need someone to really run against Gilcrest. For a repuke he has his good side. He has been very involved trying to do something about global warming and is somewhat environmental but he has let the repuke party strong arm him to often and though there was a time I could vote on just the person I cannot vote for a repuke ever again no matter what after the last few years. I now point out to those I know that are very involved in trying to do something to stop/slow warming that he voted against his beliefs and they can not support any repuke. I also have written to him enough that he send 20 plus pages explaining why he did whatever. Too little too late now.

14. Anyone else share this opinion? See:
Mrs. V. is of the opinion that Rales will sufficiently divert enough votes from Cardin to allow Mfume the win. Anyone?

Is it possible Mfume will win without such a Perot-ish split?

15. -
on the senate race:

Both Cardin and Mfume are both good, well qualified candidates with very similar records and views. However, all of the polling consistently shows Cardin with a decent sized lead over Steele while Mfume is either tied or actualy trailing. This reason alone is why Cardin MUST win the democratic primary. If mfume wins, you very well could see a republican elected out of maryland which would doom the Democrat's chances at the overall senate, basically a full fledged disaster.

VOTE BEN CARDIN

and a high 'plays well with others' quotient. That's important in the senate.

20. Haven't made my mind up about any of these...
U.S. Senate: Torn between liking Cardin's electability and preferring Mfume's politics, so I'm thinking of just voting for the candidate I like the most, Lichtman.

Attorney General: Leaning towards Simms.

Comptroller: Leaning towards Franchot.

21. my choices
Ben Cardin - he's been a decent Rep, and I think he has the best chance of winning, which is most important these days.

I haven't decided yet on Attorney General - I am currently not well enough informed and will be looking into it in the next few days.

Comptroller - probably Peter Franchot, but as of right now, I have no problems with Janet Owens. As long as its not Shaefer, I'm happy. The guy is a nut.

MD-3, almost definitely Sarbanes.

Senate: Ben Cardin, Mfume is too unelectable

Attorney General: Doug Gansler, very energetic he is
Comptroller: Janet Owens. I despise Schaefer and I think Owens has more experience than Franchot

MoCo County Exec: Silverman, Leggett opposses the Purple Line

25. Silverman misrepresents Leggett on Purple Line
IL opposed the Purple Line when it was proposed as a single track line on the Capitol Crescent Trail-- a ridiculous proposal. He now supports the Line the way it is being designed now, but with a few minor modifications. Silverman is being disingenuous.

Silverman is in the pockets of developers as evidenced by the huge lead in contributions from them. Take a look at who is endorsing Leggett:

Sierra Club
21st Century Democrats
Montgomery County Hispanic Democratic Club)
The African American Democratic Club
Municipal and County Government Employees Organization (MCGEO)
United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 400
Progressive Maryland
Montgomery County Firefighters Association
Montgomery College Democrats
Montgomery County Green Democrats
Progressive Neighbors
Neighbors for Better Neighborhoods
D.C. Metro Area Carpenters Union
Democracy for Montgomery County
The Montgomery County Public Schools Retirees Association (MCPSRA)
21st Century Dems
NOW

Furthermore, Silverman just strike me as an arrogant, egotistical jerk.
