1. Wonderful, wonderful and even more
I shall bask in the positiveness of this moment, and steel myself (no pun intented) for the contradictory and competing polls that are sure to come... but this is very promising.

We must be sure not to allow Steele to disconnect himself from Shrub. The drama this week was so apparent as to be laughable. They are trying hard to identify Steele as independent of the Bush Adminsitration, as a brave bad cowboy, but that really is hooey.

GOP Senate candidate flip-flops on Bush
KRISTEN WYATT
Associated Press

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Republican Michael Steele's changing remarks about President Bush - from criticism to calling him his "homeboy" - left Maryland voters wondering what are the Senate candidate's true views.

I know the race is a long ways from being over, but Steele is doing a great job of sinking his on campaign. From the phantom cookie incident too comparing stem cell research to the Holocaust and slavery. By the way Steele hasn't apologized for the slavery comparison. Another reason why I want Mfume to have has the opportunity to bust him on it.

Steele makes Kilgore '05 campaign look competent.

3. Sounds like...
Alan Keyes all over again. He sunk his own campaign here in Maryland with his OWN mouth! What a beautiful sight, indeed!

4. Somebody remind me again why I shouldn't vote for Mfume?
I'd take Cardin over half the Dems in the Senate but Mfume is special. I think Maryland, my Maryland is special, too.

5. You shouldn't
vote for Mfume because he is a lousy politician, alienates folks, doesn't know how to work the system, and when he wins he will be ineffective.
