Mention things you're doing to help Democrats get elected
I don't have much to donate, but my dad is the Democratic committee chair for my small town, and I'll be going to a fundraiser with him Saturday night. I get to meet local candidates. I'll be attending more meetings.

1. I'm a dorm captain.
We're not allowed to canvas in the dorms (College Republicans actually got in trouble for doing so), but we're going to get signs to hang on our door and t-shirts to wear to let people know that we have voter registration forms, (Democratic) campaign literature, etc. We're prevented from being too partisan, but we do door-to-door canvassing off-campus for Claire McCaskill and other state- and local-level offices. We're hosting a McCaskill/Talent debate party next Wednesday, will be attending a Fall Kickoff Rally for Democrats in the area (Claire McCaskill will be there, as well). Other than that, I've got a button on my backpack for a former nursing professor at my university who's now running for state representative and am sporting McCaskill bumper stickers on my bed and door. :hi:

3. Sounds cool
Is McCaskill catching up in Missouri? There's been a lot of good news lately. I think she can do it.

4. She's definitely got a shot.
All the polls I have seen have had them either tied, or with one of them ahead but within the margin of error. If McCaskill starts capitalizing on Talent's "flip-flopping" on the stem cell bill, she could win over a lot of moderates and alienate religious conservatives away from Talent.

5. I have a feeling that this year..
we'll see the full anti-incumbent effect in the October polls. There was September 11, and the Democrats are fine-tuning their message. Glad to hear she's doing well in the polls.
