Democratic Primaries

(3,261 posts)Your last paragraph is the key. I remember how long Clinton stayed in in 2008 because that was a pivotal primary for the nation. However, I didn't even remember how long Brown or Edwards stayed in. I don't think I had any reason to care. Democrats who generally respect one another hashing out their differing policy positions in a civil primary fight is perfectly appropriate. I will remember Sanders's prolonged primary battle precisely because his movement is uniquely dangerous in its open and ugly attacks on Democratic leaders. It says a lot that Senator Warren made it a point to call it out after she ended her campaign. Our last two Democratic presidents were dogged by fervent GOP campaigns to undermine them. What the Sanders campaign is doing is going to be mimicked by a vitriolic GOP attempt to undermine the Biden presidency. For me, this is utterly unforgivable.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
