(404 posts)In 2016 Sanders did want the superdelegates serve their purpose, to do their job, & choose "the best, strongest, candidate to defeat Trump." It's also clear that he'd rather not have superdelegates at all.

Keep in mind that, in May of 2016, polls showed Sanders outperforming Clinton in matchups against Trump.
