The AP isn't insulting or demeaning anyone, or implying they are corrupt, they are using the term appropriately to describe the group of established politicians and bureaucrats who generally call the shots in the Democratic Party. The term "establishment" is used in the same way in many different realms. For example, there is a "scientific establishment", which consists of big-named professors and people in the American Academy of Sciences and so on. There is also a "media establishment" and a "business establishment" and a "medical establishment" and a "classical music establishment" and a "cycling establishment" etc.
