(3,855 posts)Let us think about this.
One of the reasons given by Centrists for Clinton's defeat in 2016 was Jil Stein took voters away from Clinton.
Now, this is wrong for many reasons. But lets for the sake of argument say it was true.
Why would you not want those voters to vote for you if they not voting for you cost you the election last time?
IF Sanders is putting former Stein people in his campaign then that means he is trying to get those Stein Voters. This means if Sanders is nominated, you wouldn't have to worry about the Green party spoiling the vote.
I am not going to tell you how to vote. No one is entitled to any vote. But just on a strategic level, I don't understand this and other's position that we can throw away voters as if we have too many. Especially when people like Biden are saying he wants to draw in disaffected Trump voters, who are way more problematic than anyone who voted for Jill Stein.
I can't even call this a purity test since the standards are all over the place.
I want to beat Trump. So I am going to work my ass off for Sanders in the Primary.
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided
