(68,578 posts)election we lose pulls us further to the right. We are further to the right than we were in 16 right now. If we lose 20, we lose the courts for a generation and the country moves further right... we might as well go home for thirty years or so...it won't matter who is elected. Put a fork in the progressive movement...no matter the Demographics.
We will be fortunate if the Republic survives...it is that serious. And it seems to me,it is not about going 'home' to Roosevelt policies that are nearly 100 years old but building a new 21st century progressive party which won't happen if we can't attract voters in red and purple states by winning them over to our side policy wise...those who cry Roosevelt,Roosevelt are living in the past. He was a great president no doubt...but now it is time for us to come up with ideas that will move this country and party forward. We are no better than the GOP who worship Reagan if we continue to look backwards for answers to modern 21st century problems instead of considering modern innovative idea..We live in a different world in 2019 than Roosevelt and our
great-grandparents did in 1932 America.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
