5. The problem that brings up, though, is an old one: Where will they go?

Last time this happened (albeit in a much less extreme and toxic way) they decided to take refuge in the Democrativ Party and were responsible for some nasty rightward shifting.

I'm hoping that this time they will choose rather to start a third (or fourth, fifth, sixth...) party and spend their time in the wilderness, re-building and restoring what's left of moderate conservatism.

But I'm an incurable optimist.
