because it seems to mean different things to different people.

Strikes me that the reaction to Trump being nearly universal is a point against it though.

If we truly lived in a rape culture, wouldn't Donald be doing just fine right now?

That doesn't mean we don't have a serious problem with sex assault, because we absolutely do.

But overarching and simplistic terms like rape culture are rarely useful or accurate in either describing a problem or fixing it.
