In reply to the discussion: Warren, Kaine, Castro on Clinton running-mate short list. Who do you think she will pick? [View all]Hortensis
(58,785 posts)7. Kaine seems to be a really good man, but
the ticket seems really bland. Fwiw, he's fluent in Spanish.
Castro is also a good guy, even though not fluent in Spanish, but a definite lightweight. I mean, he set up a preschool program as mayor and got a lot of minorities and lefties mad at him as head of HUD? Not his fault, he's young, but not yet a presidential quality resume either.
I like Warren--two older blonde women or not, that'd be a strong, dynamic ticket, but I think I'd better get ready to discover what else there is to like about Kaine.

OP
Castro is about ready as Rubio would be. Propped up more by the media and institution than anything.

Kaine is pro TPP, is against abortion personally (does not favour overturning Roe) but does

Nah, won't be Warren or Castro and shouldn't be. Kaine is the best in this group.

No one complained about "Gender Balance" with 44 Presidents and Vice Presidents.

I'd go with Xavier Becerra, personally. Over 20 years in Congress and a pretty solid liberal record.

I heard Castro does not speak Spanish. Not that it matters but it may matter to some Latinos. Anyway
