(18,837 posts)...you're right about the big picture. The only way that what Sanders started will go away is that if he, and his supporters, allow that to happen and just give up.
A big part of the problem...which can't be easily compartmentalized into behaving like children...is that in the short term, Clinton simply does not represent what Sanders represents. Saying "it will only be four years"...while I assume her supporters are convinced it will be eight...is not entirely helpful right now when it comes to focusing on "the big picture."
Once again, speaking only for myself, I absolutely understand what we'd get if Trump won.
Clinton's just not my candidate. That's not sour grapes, it's the truth. I see her and I don't see my President.
Yes, there is a lot that Sanders can accomplish in the next four years, with or without Clinton's support. I have no idea what he'll do.
Nor do I have any idea what Clinton will do if she wins, unless I take campaign talk at 100% face value, and I don't.
I just feel that the "best case scenario"...her winning, Trump losing...solves the Trump issue, but that we deserve more.
That's my adult "big picture" view. Not speaking for anyone else, not a "representative" of Sanders or his supporters.
