a state of denial that has reached the level of absurdity.
A state of denial so devoid of reality that I find myself wondering - have we entered the Twilight Zone?
You can deny all you want, but this year by your OWN ACTIONS, not the actions of a decent man like Bernie, but by YOUR OWN ACTIONS in embracing a corrupt system, you have damaged the Democratic Party and this country to an extent that I am not sure it can ever recover. And your corporatist buddies on the right side of the aisle have been right there with you.
No country needed to fund a military to destroy America. We are imploding from within.
The one shot this country had (and it was a long shot at best) was to put someone in at the top who through his decency and goodness and love of country and all people, would have attracted smart like minded individuals to public service. A man who believes fervently in all the democratic principles this country was founded upon. Someone unafraid to use the bully pulpit in an unprecedented way to make the bold changes this country so desperately needs. Instead, we are faced with the usual cast of corrupt, incompetent, self-serving individuals who care not about serving this country or its people, and who do not even care about the destruction that they will leave in their wake, but what riches and power they will gain.
Bernie and his supporters refuse to give up the fight because they realize what is at stake and what they are fighting for (and it isn't just to gain some items on a party platform). It is for the future of this country and its people.
Some of the Democrats in Congress toss around the words - we need to save our country - but what they fail to realize is that by winning with a candidate that embraces our current system, we will have lost. Not that it will matter, because I do not see the Democratic Party winning in November.
And when I hear you speak the words - we need to save our country - what I hear you say is we need to save our current system of government because it's working out quite well for me and mine. So please shut up and don't rock the boat because you're scaring me. I have come to understand what it is you really fear.
