Reality is that if you are in the IT industry, have a decent resume and are mobile, you don't have a problem finding jobs. I'm 57 and have no college degree and I'm making the most money in my life right now. Of course that's anecdotal but I see those around me doing fine in this industry, also.
When jobs are lost, many of those people are going to find innovative ways to survive. Some of them by creating new business opportunities.
The owners of corporations are not going to put themselves out of a job. There is always a need for consumers and I don't see how that will ever change.
