They believe he is God's own hand-picked man for the office of President, whom God raised up and put in place to implement his will. Opposition to Trump, therefore, is the same as opposition to God. Nothing he does or doesn't do, is ever going to convince them otherwise.

The Bible is stuffed with stories about awful men who, according to the stories, God put into positions of great power over others, and showered with his favor and his blessings. These men perpetrated evil that Trump hasn't dreamed of doing, sometimes on God's direct orders, and God rewarded them for it. Considering this, there really isn't any way to convince Christians that God would never favor someone like Trump. The Bible very clearly tells them that the opposite is true.
