(1,989 posts)You know the post about..."do you want my job"...it really surprised me. I mean the open hostility of it. But, then I thought about it. No, these people feel totally comfortable putting that out there. And..for just a minute...you feel like that one black person at a rally thinking...hmm...maybe this is the wrong party.
These white privilege threads are educational. The feeling you get from them is no different from the hostility you get from just straight up bigots...it's just pushed a bit further down from the surface. But, it's still palpable.
It makes you wonder. Hell, they're in the right place...maybe I'm in the wrong place. There's a reason there are so few blacks or other minorities on the site.
The irony of it..."I ain't got no privilege"..."Now...stop talking about race that way...cause I don't like it. What...ya'll still talking about privilege??? I mean...if that's not a sign of privilege with a side of arrogance, what is?
nawsa...we is gon stop talk'n bout de privilege. Cause you don like it...And...we's sposed to do whatcha say...parently...(SARCASM INTENDED)
I mean, at some point, it's gonna get awkward, picking on Herman (999) Cane at the same time you're getting chastised (lambasted) on a progressive site for suggesting there are times when white people get better treatment than minorities.
This is one of those...the jokes on me, moments.
