I still remember meeting Neli, at the shelter. MrsK and LilBit were with me. Neli was in an outdoor pen, by herself. She wasn't jumping, barking, and pawing. She just watched LilBit. I wheeled Lil's wheelchair into the pen. Neli, did 3, very fast laps around then pen, and then, just played down at LilBit's chair. I told MrsK, we found our dog. That was 2018.
The other day, I was talking to my neighbor, and she said , we got a new dog, so if you hear some strange barking, bear with us
Saw the neighbor out walking today, with the new dog, and I froze. She came over and said, you OK, Koz? I said is this the new family? She said yep, meet Penny.
I met Penny, and then I told my neighbors, please come inside, I need to fire up desktop and show you something.
We looked at pics of Neli, compared the markings to Penny. We found 2 small things, that could be different.
Told the neighbor, this is why I froze, I had a " pet flashback, I saw Neli, not Penny, why is she so calm around me?"
Neighbor said, I don't know, but would ya dog care her, if we need?
I said, of course!!
Make up your mind, I got some dog love today, it felt good.
