4. I had an inguinal hernia repair

That was in 2009.

There was some pain with the procedure which was done as an outpatient.

I'm not sure that was the best way to do it in my case, as I have other pre-existing health problems but I managed to get through it.

Hopefully, they've refined the procedure a bit since 2009.

I would try not to worry, esp. if it is being done as an outpatient.
