San Francisco mayor boycotts Pride Parade over ban on uniformed officers marching

But you can go piss up a rope. The police don't get to march in the Pride parade for quick community brownie points when they refuse to address abuses by officers towards at-risk communities like LGBQT+ (especially trans people (and especially trans people of colour)). They're not being banned from marching, they're being banned from marching in uniform. That just means they don't get to wear the symbols and regalia of a group that has traditionally oppressed queer people.
