I was about 12 when my uncle assaulted me, when I didn't have all that sexual stuff sorted out in my head yet. Somehow his perception that I was gay made it "okay" to rape me, as though in his pseudo-Catholic religion I fell somewhere below the dignity of someone allowed to keep their clothes on. This was 1972, the APA had only recently de-classified homosexuality as a normal variant. I never saw him again.
