I was a community organizer for the Obama campaign and we did a lot of canvasing.

When you see the people who are up front or on stage for those events, they usually were very heavily involved.

Funny thing though, in 2012, I tried to volunteer and past canvassing, they never wanted much. Different campaign organizers. Did manage to get my daughter on stage for one event with Obama that time around.
