Labour MPs should not claim to support "the parliamentary road to socialism"... [View all]

...unless they actually support moving their country TOWARDS socialism.

That is, unless they actually support either public ownership of parts of the economy, social ownership of industry by communities, a massive increase in worker cooperatives, the encouragement of a caring inclusive and egalitarian social sensibility, or at least, at a BARE minimum, the preservation of existing social benefits and a categorical rejection of the idea of subjecting those on those benefits to sanctimonious judgment from the state and from those lucky enough to be wealthier.

It is NOT "the parliamentary road to socialism" to support privatization, globalization weakening of unions, means tests, morality tests, and savage cuts in benefits. That is "the parliamentary road to barbarism".
