November 28th: call-in day to defend Social Security and Medicare [View all]

The Washington Alliance for Retired Americans in coordination with Jeff Johnson of the WA State labor Council has designated November 28 as a Congressional call-in day.

November 28 is a lobby day for Labor leaders and we agreed, at our board meeting, to call in to support these efforts.

We need to contact our members and ask them to call our Senators and their Congressional Representative with the message:

1. Any compromise must not include cuts to Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid. These include reducing the COLA or Raising the Age of Eligibility.

2. Any compromise must include an end to the Bush tax cuts on the amount earned over $250,000.

Phone # is 1-888-659-9401.

Please contact your members. I know its a busy time, but we need to stay vigilant and involved to protect important programs.

In Solidarity
Mike Warren
